Roberto the board magician

On the long stretch of white sand, as I was admiring the sea, listening to the waves and feeling the strong and invading wind coming from the Atlantic ocean, a black silhouette walked towards me.

After a little conversation and a realisation of the interest in approaching me, I asked for a demonstration and decided to take my camera out. He was keen to show me his tricks.

Clearly this man understood the strength of the natural elements present on the beach. As it happened, the wind worked in his favour when his show started. He was pleased, the magic had caught my eye.

Please let me introduce you to Roberto the board magician.

In case you are wondering, it's all real and he's not letting the board falling on the ground. This is a true magic show with his board and the powerful wind of that particular day.

Have a powerful and magical week!

Order and not quite

Order.

I feel "neat" is a good adjective (among many positive ones) to describe Lund, Sweden, where I lived for three years. Neat, because it was clean and because things always appeared to be in order.

The many neatly parked bikes, on the photo below, is just an example among others.

Not quite in order.

...But the swans still look quite neatly lined up.

You might remember this second photo from this previous post.

This post on "Order" is for Donlope's project 52

Time to leave the fun fair

We had fun at "La Vogue".

The flashy lights mesmerised us.

1

At first we went round in circles

2

Then we bumped into each other

And took off

 Now it's time to go.

The main thing is that my friends Chrys & Isa and I enjoyed the experience

You can check out Chrys' photos here.

Electric blue at the fun fair

As you know, I recently went to the fun fair to have fun with my friends. All equipped with our cameras, we went in to experiment with lights, flashes, reflections, lines, curves...

In a previous post, I presented the fun fair as entertainment of old times, using the Antique effect.

This time, it's the electric blue that is taking over.

Chaos KO or OK

How would you represent Chaos, asks Donlope?

Many things in life can easily become chaotic, however it took me a while to work out how to illustrate it. I am still not sure it's convincing.

Le Chaos - Le KO (it only works in French, I should add)

Eventually an idea came to me. My daughter is learning how to read and juggle with letters. And I thought it must difficult for little ones to understand a whole new system, letters, syllables, words, sentences, order, disorder.

It could easily become chaotic. Indeed, Le KO ! But they get it and it becomes OK.

For Donlope (Project 52), the first photo is my Chaos, mon KO.

Phew, it's all OK now.

I don't wish you a chaotic day today. But an OK one.

Funfair or When girls have fun!

I went to the funfair and I had fun.

Not because I enjoyed the rides (I cannot go on them, as I'm not good with heights and my stomach goes all funny). But it was a great outing because I was with 2 friends and we amused ourselves taking photos of the fair.

Except that around here it's called "La Vogue".

My aim was to experiment with the lights, the lines and the curves. So spread out on a few posts, I shall present you with the outcome of the fun I had with my 2 photographer friends.

As funfairs represent to me an older form of entertainment, I went for the Antique angle for this first series.

Hydraulic curves

I love playing with water. But this time, it was the moves and the curves of the fresh element that got my attention whilst visiting Annecy the other day.

Experiencing London

London. Good old London.

A long time ago, a proud British and Londoner told me that London was the centre of the universe. Not coming from Britain or London, for this matter, I could not quite understand what he meant at the time.

Then I experienced London, having worked nearby. I never lived there, but I often visited the Old Smoke, as they call it.

1

Today, I can say that this place fascinates me and I can't quite put my finger on it. I just love London, the vibe, the diversity, the buzz, the warm feelings it brings me when I am there.

2

Don't get me wrong, I still don't feel that London is the centre of it all, but it has something. A little pride that you carry as you walk through its streets surrounded by red bricks.

3

Have you experienced London and what do you make of it? What feelings does the city bring you?

It's on the rocks

As Donlope, "Un monde en photos", suggests weekly photographic challenges through "Project 52", I decided to get involved and contribute for the first time. It sounds like fun and a great opportunity to push my limits, explore new elements and test my capabilities.

This week (week 45), we need to illustrate the title of a song.

I chose "It's on the rocks" by The Donnas.

Thank you to Donlope for the challenges.

And hopefully you'll enjoy the music!

A bird's best spot

What do birds find in statues? Which element attracts them most to the cold and robust piece of heroism? Cosiness? Companionship? Glory? Grandeur?

Or simply a resting opportunity with a panoramic view?
